PM Narendra Modi on Thursday included ‘Jai Anusandhan’ to the motto(Slogan) ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ given by the late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, hailing the intensity of research to drive the country into the best class.

The slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ was later prefixed with ‘Jai Vigyan’ by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Addressing the 106th Indian Science Congress here at Jalandhar, Modi said India must place emphasis on its research output.

“The present new Slogan is ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan’. I might want to include ‘Jai Anusandhan’ to it,” he said.

He further said that it was through science that India was changing its present and attempting to anchor its future.
